Collects and Prayers
Collect for the Sixth Sunday in Lent: Palm Sunday
God of the journey,
you travel with us along paths both rough and smooth;
as we celebrate your Son's triumphant entry into Jerusalem
travel with us into Holy Week,
that through your Holy Spirit we may witness to
the depth of your passion
and be ready to rise into the fullness of Easter Day.
Through Jesus Christ our Liberator,
who is alive and reigns with you,
in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
one God, now and for ever.
Amen.
Gracious God
You have guided generations of faithful people who
have gone before us in St Luke’s-in-the City
We are embracing the challenges and opportunities as we explore our future ministry and mission here in the heart of our city.
We pray you will inspire us to be ‘as Christ in our community’.
Encourage, prepare and equip us for this journey as Christ leads.
Lift our hopes and deepen our faith in what you have in store for us.
Help us to listen well.
to deepen our love
strengthen our unity,
widen our vision.
Energise us in body, mind and spirit for the work before us.
As we journey on may we find in Christ’s hospitality, hope and food for the journey.
In Jesus name we pray.
Amen
